Monday meeting to take next step in school superintendent search

On Monday at 5:30 p.m., the superintendent search committee for Portland Public Schools will meet in Room 321 at the Portland Arts and Technology High School, for a “discussion of next steps in Superintendent’s Search.”The school board hired PROACT, a national consulting firm, to help with the search for a superintendent to replace James C. Morse, Sr., who will leave the district next month for a new position in New Hampshire.The board has whittled the search to two finalists. Finalists under consideration include Emmanuel Caulk, an assistant superintendent in the Philadelphia public schools, and Marguerite Vanden Wyngaard, the deputy superintendent for Paterson Public Schools in New Jersey.
A national search resulted in 159 applications.
